In partnership with New Jersey's Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness,
2-1-1 has expanded to provide easy access to homeland security information and emergency preparation.
"In New Jersey we are taking an important step towards improving the flow of information during times of emergency or heightened alert.
By expanding the State's existing 2-1-1 telephone system, New Jersey's residents will have an easy-to-remember number to call for information
on how to proceed in the face of everything from terrorism threats to natural disasters." Governor Jon Corzine
Pilot Program to register people with special needs who reside in Atlantic, Cape May, Monmouth and Ocean Counties
If you reside in any one of these counties and have special needs, you now have the opportunity to add your personal information to the
Special Needs Registry. By doing so, you will be providing this information to emergency response agencies so that responders will be better
equipped to serve you in the event of an emergency in your area. As a pilot program, this registry is limited to the four counties mentioned
above, all of which are located on the New Jersey coast and fall within the portion of the state that typically has a higher risk of
encountering hurricanes.
To keep this registry current, registrants are required to update their registration information each year.
