Free Dental Care for Needy Kids Under the Age of 12
Statewide on Feb. 5, 2010
An annual program initiated by the American Dental Association in 2003 called Give Kids a Smile is scheduled for Friday, February 5th at locations in every county in New Jersey, providing needy children throughout the state with access to free dental care.
Since the program began, more than 13,000 children age 12 and under have come through the program and have received nearly $2.4 million in free dental services at more than 80 locations across the state.
Parents, guardians, school nurses and community leaders have taken advantage of this incredible opportunity each year to provide free dental care for children in need. The event also offers an opportunity to introduce children to dentistry via a positive, fun-filled day of learning about the importance of oral health.
A Web site has been created to provide all the information necessary for both volunteers and children to take part in the exciting day. If you need more information visit the site or contact the New Jersey Dental Association GKAS Hotline at (888) 576-9278 or via email at eelmore@njda.org. To see a complete list of participating locations in your area, click here.
You must call ahead to make an appointment for the child to be seen.
All children must be accompanied by an adult.
