Since its inception, www.nj211.org has received over 2 million visitors!
A look at Web statistics from January 2008 through the end of May shows that our site has experienced a phenomenal 49% increase in traffic in five short months.
What are most of the visitors doing when they arrive?
- 52% are reading our focused resource pages
- 40% are searching our resource database
- 6% are mental health professionals who are accessing password protected pages to learn of bed availability in facilities throughout the state
All are searching for answers.
As 2-1-1 moves forward, our goal is to be of greater assistance. To start with, we are changing our look! The home page of our Web site will soon take you right to SEARCH NOW. Visitors to the site will be able to initiate a search directly from this page and advanced search capabilities will offer geographic mapping so you can find the location of resources as well. Here’s a sneak peak of our new Home Page.
The Web site will also offer visitors home page access to a resource library that we’ll be building upon continuously. An example of what we envision can be seen on the page recently created to help people avoid foreclosure. As the year progresses we will be creating many Resource Pages like this one so that people in crisis no longer have to search the whole Web for answers, but will instead be able to go to one Web site – ours – and confidently rely on the research that we have done and compiled for them.
“This is a very exciting time for NJ 211,” explains Tom Toronto, chairman of the NJ211 Partnership. “We have the solid foundation in place to now focus our attention on widening our scope of service at every level.”
A solid connection to citizens and a reliable system in place that tracks needs based upon Web searches and phone conversations positions 2-1-1 as a “voice of the people” and provides invaluable insights to state and local officials who have the responsibility to direct resources to where they can do the most good.
