Making the most of the NJ 2-1-1 Resource Database
The 2-1-1 Resource Database is also referred to as a Community Catalog. In it you will find local and statewide health and human service resources that are available in New Jersey. We depend upon the involvement of agency professionals and others in the helping professions to assist us in keeping this database an accurate reflection of what is available in our state.
Anyone using the Catalog may suggest a revision to a current listing and may contribute information for an entirely new entry. This can all be done online. In fact, that is what we hope people will take the time to do. Our editing staff will review all suggested updates and will make the final decision as to whether or not the entry meets our inclusion guidelines. Once a change has been accepted, the entry will be updated or added to the database and will be accessible to the NJ 2-1-1 call staff and everyone who accesses the Catalog from the NJ 2-1-1 Web site.
Using the Community Catalog
When looking for services for yourself or your clients you may either type a general description in our search bar (located on our Home Page and in the top right corner of every page of our Web site) or you can leave the search bar blank and just hit "Search Now" which will bring you to the Community Catalog where you can access a categorical drop-down list by clicking on "Advanced Search." All programs and services are linked to providers (agencies which are responsible for the program or service) and complete contact information and directions to the service location are provided whenever that information is available. All searches can be limited by geography.
