Service Description:

Bayshore Family Success Center, in partnership with Affordable Housing Alliance, helps low income families maintain permanent housing by providing NON-EMERGENCY financial support, up to $2000, for:

- Rental assistance
* Past due rent
* Security deposit
* Current month's rent

- Mortgage assistance (as long as the home is not in foreclosure)
* Past due balance
* Current month's balance due

- Utility assistance (gas, electric, water, oil, propane, sewer, and tax bill)
* Security deposit
* Past due balance
* Shut off notice
* Reconnection of service

Clients can combine assistance (i.e. rent and utility) depending on their need. Families may only be eligible for assistance once every 12 months.




**Families may only receive one benefit per 12 months through this program.**

Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

- Be a resident of Aberdeen, Atlantic Highlands, Hazlet, Highlands, Holmdel, Keansburg, Keyport, Matawan, Middletown, or Union Beach
- Household gross income within 125% of the poverty guidelines ($30,312 for a family of four)
- Have documented emergent need
- Have proof that the assistance will help the family maintain housing or utility service for at least 6 months

Application Instructions:

Call for an income screening and assessment. If eligible, clients will schedule an appointment to fill out an application. All applicants must enroll in a monthly financial literacy run by Affordable Housing Alliance before receiving any financial assistance. Applicants can apply for the literacy program through Bayshore Family Success Center.
