Supportive Housing Services - Fair Lawn (Under Construction)

Agency: Alliance Against Homelessness (AAH) of Bergen County
Service Description:

Supportive housing is available to homeless individuals with mental illness and/or an addiction. Services provided at the home are designed to assist residents in reaching such goals as heightened independence, empowerment and personal achievement in a setting with fewer restrictions than they may have been used to. The degree of supportive services provided is determined on a case-by-case basis depending on the individual's care plan and the objectives they have established for themselves in consultation with staff members.

In addition, all residents are requested to participate in some form of structured activity five hours/day, four days/week. Activities may include: rehabilitative services, a vocational program, paid employment, volunteer work, or school.

Rent is charged as 30% of the individuals adjusted gross income. For example, if someone makes $1,000 per month, the agency would charge them approximately $300 per month as rent. Some residents pay for cable television or Internet as an additional charge.

Homeless individuals with mental illness and addictions are eligible. Please call for more detailed information.
