Service Description:

Anchorage provides residential and life skill services for homeless youth, ages 18 through 21, to ensure their successful transition to independence. The program assesses the individual client’s needs and life skills upon intake and gradually advances these skills, through a level system, in order to accomplish the goal of independence. The emphasis is placed on developing employment and educational achievement while supporting the therapeutic needs and the stabilization of the resident.

While in placement, residents receive skill training in the areas of:

- Education
- Employment
- Budgeting and saving
- Nutrition
- Time management
- Social and communication
- Community resource access
- Self advocacy
- Health and wellness
- Personal enrichment

The program helps residents move on to independent living with substantial money in savings, an educational plan, and sufficient employment to live independently. The majority of residents continuing their education and move on to better living arrangements and opportunities.




Open to homeless males and females, ages 18 through 21. Services are also available to LGBTQ youth.
