Survey Results Reflect a Struggling Population
Over 1,000 people took part in a survey that was posted to our website. Representing every county in the state, nearly four-fifths of the respondents were female. Fifty-four percent were unemployed, while 30% had full-time jobs. The majority of respondents rented their home and had a family size of 4 or less. The top five most urgent concerns expressed included: paying the rent; a need for utility assistance; finding a job; buying food; and paying for medical coverage. Eighty-five percent of the respondents had an annual salary of less than $50,000; the majority of whom made less than $25,000 last year. Access survey results.
