This state website was created to answer questions about COVID-19 and offer fast links for commonly requested services, such as, but not limited to the following:
- Understand Governor Murphy's recovery vision by reading The Road Back: Restoring Economic Health through Public Health
- Governor Murphy urges all New Jerseyans to "do the right thing." If you have been with someone who is diagnosed with COVID-19, "get tested". If you don't feel well, "stay home". Always wear a mask when going out in public and make sure it is covering your mouth and nose. Keep a distance of six feet between yourselves and others.
- Learn about the travel advisory that asks visitors from high-risk states to self-quarantine for fourteen days.

Established Coronavirus Test Sites and Contact Tracing
Testing sites are now open. Find information about FEMA sites and public sites here. Many other local private testing sites are now open. Contact your healthcare professional to be directed to a location in your community. Our listing of short-term resources also includes local community organized testing sites. Individuals who are undocumented or uninsured are eligible for testing as well.
Some sites are limited to seeing only those who are showing symptoms of the virus currently or have been in close contact with someone who was diagnosed with COVID-19. The CARES Act
The Federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), signed into law on March 27, contains provisions that support individuals and small businesses in a number of ways. The distribution of personal economic impact payments have begun and are being distributed automatically, with no action required from most people.
Tax filers with an adjusted gross income up to $75,000 for individuals and up to $150,000 for married couples filing joint returns will receive the full payment. Parents also receive $500 for each qualifying child. Single filers with income exceeding $99,000 and $198,000 for joint filers with no children are not eligible. Social Security recipients and railroad retirees who are otherwise not required to file a tax return are also eligible and will not be required to file a return.

Have you received your check yet? - Most Americans qualify for an Economic Impact Payment, but some will have to take action to get their payment. Most individuals will receive a $1,200 payment from the IRS. Married couples will receive $2,400 and people with children will receive an additional $500/child. If you have not yet received your payment, find out what you may need to do here. If your income doesn't require you to file taxes, you must complete this form by October 15, 2020 to receive your payment.
News and Resources for Personal Matters
Applying for assistance with basic needs - Our state has an online application and screening tool that can be used to find out if you are eligible for food assistance, cash assistance and government health insurance. Learn about NJHelps.The DCAid website will allow you to go through a screening process to see if you are eligible for the NJ housing assistance programs, utility assistance, homelessness prevention services, and others.
Child Care - As of June 15, all child care centers in NJ are permitted to open as long as they can satisfy health and safety requirements. If you need help paying for childcare, some subsidies are available. Learn more about that here.
Education - All schools remained closed for the duration of the 2019/2020 school year. Schools are permitted to reopen in September, but it is up to the individual school district and institutions of higher learning to create a plan that will ensure the safety of both students and staff. All students and faculty must where masks while in school. For further updates visit the NJ Department of Education website. The Department of Education has provided resources to help parents and students, specific student populations, educators, and administrators stay prepared, healthy, and safe.
Emergency Relief Fund - Temporary homeowners and renters emergency assistance is being offered to eligible Passaic County residents. Details here.
Food - Individuals who already get NJ Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (NJ SNAP) benefits will receive an extra benefit payment in August to help address critical food needs related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Assistance will also be given to families whose children receive free and reduced price breakfast and lunch during the school year, even if they are not receiving SNAP benefits. Read this fact sheet to learn more. SNAP recipients are now able to use their EBT card for online grocery shopping at some locations. Legal Services - The statewide system of Legal Services of New Jersey is open for business during regular hours as their staff continues to provide services remotely. Mental Health - Uncertainty and concern for our own health and livelihood, along with the well-being of those we love and our community at large is a very stressful thing to live with. If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, anger, grief or feeling overwhelmed; or you know someone who is suffering in this way, look to our mental health page for resources that can help. We've included many of New Jersey's helplines and hotlines, resources that will help you connect with people you can talk with about how you are feeling as well as virtual support groups that are being held.
Motor Vehicle Services - The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission has begun offering some services in person and road testing. Read about the plans to reopen in stages. Lines are very long and wait times are extended. Tax Assistance - The IRS has established a special section focused on steps to help taxpayers, businesses and others affected by the Coronavirus-19. This page will be updated as new information is available.
Employment Safeguards, Unemployment Benefits and Help for Businesses
On March 21, 2020 Governor Murphy signed Executive Order 107 which mandated that everything other than essential businesses be closed and that all but essential workers stay home. American Red Cross Resources
Virtual Family Assistance Center - The Red Cross has created a Virtual Family Assistance Center specifically to help with loss as a result of the pandemic. It includes resources for emotional support and grief counseling, funeral services and more.
Blood Donations - Thanks to the many individuals who gave blood and scheduled upcoming appointments, the American Red Cross has been able to meet immediate patient needs. This being said, an ongoing need for blood remains amid coronavirus uncertainties. During this difficult time, we encourage individuals to keep scheduled blood donation appointments if possible and to make new blood donation appointments for the weeks and months ahead to ensure a stable supply throughout this pandemic. Thank you to all of the New Jersey blood donors and blood drive hosts who are helping and to all who will be.

Hotline for Diabetes Emergency Kit - The Diabetes Foundation has opened a hotline for individuals living with all types of diabetes to receive a free Emergency Backup Kit. Anyone needing this can apply to receive one by visiting the Diabetes Foundation website or calling 973-849-5234.
