One-Stop Career Centers
One-Stop Career Centers provide useful resources online and in-person. Career One-Stop is an online site that has a section devoted to veteran re-employment. Here you will find research tools that will assist you in matching your military skills to a civilian career, education resources for further training and a wide array of other veteran re-employment resources.
Every state in the country has One-Stop Career Centers to assist residents seeking employment. In New Jersey, veterans representatives (Vet Reps) at One-Stop Career Centers help employers and veteran job-seekers navigate the array of federal, state and local government programs and opportunities. In addition to helping veterans receive training and find jobs, dedicated Vet Reps offer personal assistance to both veterans and employers, host veterans job fairs and help employers pre-screen job candidates.
The GI Go Fund
The GI Go Fund is a non-profit organization that helps veterans apply for their government benefits and address issues related to homelessness and employment.Their employment program matches veterans with potential employers and identifies which veterans are qualified to secure employment and which will require assistance with further job training, education or career planning. GI Go also hosts numerous Job and GI Bill Fairs that connect veterans with prospective employers in both the public and private sector, each of whom has been selected for their dedication to hiring veterans.
