NJ 2-1-1 works in coordination with state and local government; United Ways of NJ; NJVOAD (NJ Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster) and other community partners throughout the state to gather the most comprehensive and accurate resources in times of disaster.
August 2018 Flooding
Governor Murphy has declared a state of emergency for Bergen, Essex, Monmouth, Ocean, and Passaic counties due to recent flooding. Please visit the individual county Office of Emergency Management web pages for more specific information about the current recovery events. NJVOAD has put together an additional Resource Guide of information and referrals available to help as a result of the August 2018 Flooding.
State of New Jersey Flood Information Program
State Representatives from the Governor's Office of Recovery and Building will be on site to inform residents about the disaster recovery process. Representatives will explain the process to apply for federal assistance if it is made available, and will explain the realities and the likelihood of securing funding, either in the form of grants or low-interest loans. During this session, the representatives will also discuss other avenues of relief including non-profit agencies who may be able to provide assistance. Information sessions will occur in Little Falls and Brick.

Emergency shelters are locations that are available to homeless people all year long. During times of extreme weather conditions, these shelters expand their capacity as much as possible to ensure that community citizens are protected from inclement weather and dangerous situations.
