SNAP Early Payment

January 21, 2019

Approximately 730,000 people in NJ depend on the critical assistance of the SNAP (food stamps) benefit. As it stands now, the February SNAP benefits should be paid on Thursday, January 17, 2019. These are the February benefits and individuals and families should budget with this in mind.

Emergency Energy Assistance Now Available

LIHEAP participants may receive up to $600 in emergency energy assistance. Those who have not yet applied for LIHEAP can still do so until August 31, 2019. Find out about how these and other programs can help. 

LIHEAP Season Recertification

October 01, 2018

Due to the extension of the LIHEAP Season, Recertification will be delayed until September 24th. 

Please contact your local agency if you have not received your recertification notice by Friday, October 5th. If you do not know the location of your local agency visit the NJ 2-1-1 website for more information. 

Utility Assistance Application Days

Individuals who are having trouble paying their energy bills are encouraged to attend one of the upcoming Energy Assistance Days where representatives from New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG), Elizabethtown Gas, Community Action Partnership and other social service agencies will be available to answer questions, determine what grants and resources are available to meet your needs and assist with the application process.
