NJ 2-1-1 works in coordination with state and local government; United Ways of NJ; NJVOAD (NJ Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster) and other community partners throughout the state to gather the most comprehensive and accurate resources in times of disaster.
Our Warming Centers listing provides a timely reflection of locations that community citizens can frequent if they need a place to go to escape the cold. These listings come from the Office of Emergency Management (OEM) on the state and county level and the listing grows as we hear from these authorities.
Emergency shelters are locations that are available to homeless people all year long. During times of extreme weather conditions, these shelters expand their capacity as much as possible to ensure that community citizens are protected from inclement weather and dangerous situations.
