The Coronavirus (COVID-19)
All individuals five years of age or older are now eligible for the vaccination. What you need to know about the COVID-19 vaccination and how it works.
Individuals 12 years of age and older eligible for a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Effective immediately, all Moderna vaccine recipients are eligible for a booster dose six months after completing their primary two-dose series. All Pfizer vaccine recipients are eligible for a booster dose five months after completing their primary two-dose series. All those who received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine continue to be eligible to receive a booster dose two months after their primary dose.
At this time, only the Pfizer vaccine is authorized for individuals aged 12 and up.
COVID-19 Third Dose
People with moderate or severe immune system deficiencies should get an additional Pfizer or Moderna shot, at least four weeks after their second Pfizer or Moderna shot, including those who have:
- Been receiving active cancer treatment for tumors or cancers of the blood
- Received an organ transplant and are taking medicine to suppress the immune system
- Received a stem cell transplant within the last 2 years or are taking medicine to suppress the immune system
- Moderate or severe primary immunodeficiency (such as DiGeorge syndrome and Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome)
- Advanced or untreated HIV infection
- Active treatment with high-dose corticosteroids or other drugs that may suppress your immune response
- People who want a third dose should identify themselves as immunocompromised, and proof of immunocompromised status is not required. Vaccine appointments can be made at any existing vaccination location without a prescription.
CDC also recommends that moderately or severely immunocompromised children ages 5 to 11 be able to receive a third dose 28 days after their second shot.

Attend a pop-up or mobile vaccination event.
The State is holding pop-up COVID-19 vaccination events, mobile vaccination clinics, and other events across New Jersey. No appointment needed.
Seniors needing assistance booking appointments can contact the State's senior hotline, 856-249-7007 to access reserved appointments.

If you are homebound and unable to be transported to a vaccination site, complete this form to register your need. If you need assistance completing this, call 855-568-0545. Our state is actively using NJ Register Ready, (a system used to help people with disabilities during times of emergency) to contact people who may need assistance.
Docket is a new app from the NJ Department of Health that makes it easier for you and your family to securely access your COVID-19 vaccination record. If you don't have your vaccination card with you or have lost it, you can easily access your record through the app to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination as needed. This app is available on the App Store or on Google Play.

Established Coronavirus Test Sites and Contact Tracing
Public testing sites are open and many other local private testing sites are too. Contact your healthcare professional to be directed to a location in your community. Our listing of short-term resources also includes local community-organized testing sites. Individuals who are undocumented or uninsured are eligible for testing as well.
Federal Testing Sites for all New Jersey Residents
Stockton University (Atlantic County) located at Chris Guapp Residence Hall, 421 Chris Guapp Dr, Galloway NJ. Open daily from 7am - 5pm. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged, although the center will take walk-ins. Pre-register here.

Once a person is known to have tested positive, it is essential that those whom they've been in contact with be notified. Call Line Opened to Answer Questions
Any New Jersey resident can call the Coronavirus Hotline at the New Jersey Poison Control Center at 1-800-962-1253 to speak directly with a health care professional about medical concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The hotline is available 24/7 and services are free and confidential. Information can be given in any language. If you are seeking assistance with basic needs, dial 211.
News and Resources for Personal Matters
Economic Impact Payment/Stimulus Payment - The IRS and US Treasury began sending out the third round of stimulus payments on March 12, 2021. Each week the third round of Economic Impact Payments and the related 2020 Recovery Rebate Credit will go to eligible individuals as people continue to file income tax returns and returns are processed. Learn more.
Many people who do not normally file a tax return and don't receive federal benefits may qualify for the stimulus and may not realize it. This includes those without a permanent address, income, a job, or a bank account. People who don't meet the Social Security Number requirements can get the third round of stimulus payments for each qualifying dependent if those dependents have Social Security Numbers. Excluded New Jerseyans Fund (NJF) The Excluded New Jerseyans Fund (ENJF) provides a one-time, direct cash benefit to eligible households who have suffered an economic hardship due to COVID-19 and were excluded from both the federal stimulus checks and COVID related unemployment assistance - including undocumented individuals, residents re-entering from the justice system, and any other individuals otherwise excluded. Advance Child Tax Credit - Advance Child Tax Credit payments are early payments from the IRS of 50 percent of the estimated amount of the Child Tax Credit that you may properly claim on your 2021 tax return during the 2022 tax filing season. If the IRS has processed your 2020 tax return or 2019 tax return, these monthly payments will be made starting in July and through December 2021, based on the information contained in that return. For each of your qualifying children age 5 or younger, you will receive up to $300 monthly, which is $1,800. For each of your qualifying children ages 6 to 17, you will receive up to $250 monthly, which is $1,500. Determine eligibility and learn more on their website.
Applying for assistance with basic needs - Our state has an online application and screening tool that can be used to find out if you are eligible for food assistance, cash assistance, and government health insurance. Learn about NJHelps.The DCAid website will allow you to go through a screening process to see if you are eligible for the NJ housing assistance programs, utility assistance, homelessness prevention services, and others.
Education - Currently, schools are required to provide in-person education as long as they can adhere to safety protocols mandated by the state. On May 17, 2021 Governor Murphy announced that schools will be required to provide full-time, in-person instruction beginning in Fall 2021. If buildings are open for in-person instruction, parents or guardians will not be able to opt-out of in-person learning. Remote learning will only be permitted in the event of a local outbreak or other emergency.
Food - To see if you are eligible for food assistance and to apply for NJ SNAP, go to NJHelps. SNAP recipients are now able to use their electronic benefits transfer (EBT) card for online grocery shopping at some locations.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced that its program providing free breakfasts and lunches to children will continue through the 2021-22 school year until June 30, 2022. The Seamless Summer Option program (SSO) lets families pick up free food from their local school district, even if they do not qualify for free and reduced-price meals.
Funeral Expenses - FEMA is providing financial assistance to those who have lost family members to COVID-19 after January 20, 2020. The death must have occurred in the United States and/or its territories, must have been documented to be attributed to COVID-19, and the applicant must be a United States citizen, non-citizen national, or qualified alien. The deceased person does not have to be a citizen, non-citizen national, or qualified alien. Applications will begin to be accepted April 12, 2021 via the FEMA call center at 844-684-6333. Immigrant Access to Services - We want to make sure you and your family have access to affordable groceries and health care without fear. Here is a fact sheet to let you know what programs you can access. The new Public Charge final rule from the federal government may apply to you, and this quick guide can help you make informed decisions for your family. You can also see updated information here.
Internet or Voice Service - Cable and telecommunications providers had enrolled customers with an already existing account in an interest free payment plan of at least 12 equal monthly installments, including the balance already due, prior to disconnecting the customers service. You can no longer apply for this program, but the grace period for shut offs is through the end of December 2021.
The Affordable Connectivity Program replaced the Emergency Broadband Benefit on December 31, 2021. Learn more about the Affordable Connectivity Program by visiting fcc.gov/ACP. Provides a discount of up to $30 per month toward internet service for eligible households and up to $75 per month for households on qualifying Tribal lands. Eligible households can also receive a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet from participating providers if they contribute more than $10 and less than $50 toward the purchase price. The Lifeline Program is a federal program that provides eligible low-income individuals with a free smartphone and free wireless phone service (free data, free monthly minutes and unlimited texting). A household is eligible if a member of the household participates in any of the following programs: NJ SNAP, Medicaid, SSI, Federal Public Housing Assistance, Veterans Pension and Survivors Benefit and Tribal Programs; or has an income that is at or below 135% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. *Note that this is not the same as the State Lifeline Utility Assistance program.
Legal Services - The statewide system of Legal Services of New Jersey is open for business during regular hours as their staff continues to provide services remotely. If you are a client seeking assistance with a civil legal matter, you may file an application online or call their toll-free Hotline at 1.800.576.5529 (8:00am-5:30pm). Mental Health - Uncertainty and concern for our own health and livelihood, along with the well-being of those we love and our community at large, is a very stressful thing to live with. If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, anger, grief, feeling overwhelmed, or you know someone who is suffering in this way, look to our mental health page for resources that can help. Tax Refunds - Individuals can check the status of their tax refund using Where’s My Refund? tool or by calling 800-829-1954 for automated refund information.
Utilities - The moratorium on utility shut-offs (water, municipal electric, and sewer customers) will end on March 15, 2022. The updated legislation also extends the payment plan provisions requiring all utilities to offer a 12-month, no down payment, interest-free payment plan to customers prior to disconnecting service or imposing liens for non-payment of arrearages that had accrued since the beginning of the public health emergency. Hotline for Diabetes Emergency Kit - The Diabetes Foundation has opened a hotline for individuals living with all types of diabetes to receive a free Emergency Backup Kit and other assistance in managing their disease.
